Landscape and Garden Design Tip #6 Create Balance
Balance is the benchmark of a well designed garden. Often, people make the mistake of doing too much of one thing. A carpet of perfect green grass without a single tree. Bulbs in the spring, and very little interest for summer. Remember to design with all seasons in mind. If budget is a concern, start with evergreens for architecture.
They will provide beauty even during the winter months. Always set a little bit of money aside for a flat or two of annual flowers. They can provide instant gratification, as well as an inexpensive contrast to your more structural pieces.
