Landscape and Garden Design Tip #10 Divide and Conquer!
I love plants that can be easily divided. I am continually creating new beds and taking on new projects. Dividing is a great way to recycle, share, or stretch your gardening reach to the maximum. When taking on a new project in my own yard or for a client, I often divide and reposition some of the larger plants to use them as the framework for the new design.
It’s much easier to begin with plants that the client already loves and has in abundance and then simply embellish. You’d be amazed at the number of gardens that suddenly spring to life after moving the existing plants into new positions.

Some of my favorite dividers are hostas, lilies, ornamental grasses and euonymous.
